Community empowerment is crucial to establishing long term resilience and sustainable visions for the future. Empowered communities take resilience into their own hands and facilitate projects from within. ORLI+ strives to create resilient strategies in tandem with communities in need allowing them to take active role in the production of their resilient vision.
Bayanihan: By the People for the People - Siargao Philippines
ORLI+ helped develop a community vision for a resilient island living based in the local Bayanihan culture of Siargao. The strategy piggybacks off of the strong existing Bayanihan culture but reframes it through a lens of longer term resilience objectives which are given momentum through a "by the people, for the people" movement based on connected culture and inclusive community involvement.
